Busted center stand mount.

I usually could roll my G off the center statnd with no problems. It started to get real hard, having to get off the bike and "jerk" it off the center stand. I noticed the bike leaning to the right while on the centerstand yesterday. WTF? I looked under the bike and the right mount has pulled completly off the frame. I took the center stand off, the broken mount fits perfectly back into the offending hole. Looks like an easy weld it back in job. Any pitfalls I should watch out for? Looking to stick weld it back in place. Normal precautions, disconnect the battery, un-plug the "BOX" and don't set my garage on fire.

Now you know why they say to EASE it up onto the center stand.. not lift it and let it clunk down into place.

That was welded there in the first place.. so I don't see any problems re-welding it. Just clean it up good afterwards since the flux on the rod is corrosive.. then a couple coats of paint.

Since you don't go to any rallies or get-togethers any more.. you should have plenty of time to do this..

Ya might wanna bring your own silverware, and a bib 'cause your gonna have alot of words to eat. Just so happens I found the busted weld 'cause I was gonna replace a leaky fork seal before the M.O.M. Ralley. Just another minor setback we all deal with when you have 30 year old motorcycles. And yes, in the future, I will be more gentle using the center stand.

It was one of those "Double dog dare you" statements to goad you into going finally... but I suspect you'll still come up with some pansy excuse to cancel on us at the last minute AGAIN. (Triple dog dare..) lol.

As for eating my words... John and Kat usually cook up more than anyone can eat, so I doubt I'll have room for my words also... but would love to have you show up so I could try to!

That would be a triple dog dare you, your on. ( I doubt we can find a frozen flagpole, but I am sure there will be a few hot pipes.) And, I have seen you eat, John and Kat can't possibly make that much that much food, or supply 'nuff beer.

Well.. they do have to slaughter the fattened calf when I visit, but the beer is easy. I only drink what's offered, so they just don't offer very much. Kind of like when I visited you... You only offered two, so I drank all you wanted me to! (Either that or the frikkin all night drive I had planned stopped me)

And besides.. your man-cave was SPOTLESS.... and it was kind of creeping me out a bit. I mean.. c'mon! Who carpets their workshop!? That's signs of a seriously deranged guy! I had to get out of there before your head starting spinning around or something.
