I am running a LED tail light and it is doing ok. I had a Tail light with 2 bulbs and it worked, it was just too big. So I replaced it with LED. I don’t know if the blinkers have anything to do with the taillight circuit but in either case they didn’t work.
The only thin you MAY have done is "break" the ground connection. Part of the ground for the rear of the bike is through the tail light. If you DIDN'T put in a new ground wire, from the lights to the frame, that may be your problem. JAT

I run a 4-1 exhaust and pod filter setup. In addition, the baffle fell off and is just laying inside my Kerker megaphone. Essentially I'm running open exhaust, although you can't tell by looking at it. Ever since the baffle came loose I've experienced the loud popping on decel, and I've recently confirmed that I'm running lean.

I opened the carbs the other day and found my jets to be 125/42.5, which is only slightly up from stock jetting. I'm expecting my new jets (135/45) to show up here at work via UPS any minute now and I'll be reassembling my carbs with the new jets in place this evening.

This should help alleviate my lean condition and reduce the popping. If all goes well I'll be going for a test ride tonight and I'll know if I've made much of a difference.

"Then God just felt sorry for me and decided to let me have one thing go right with my bike"

You can never overestimate the value of the 'Voodoo Witch Doctor' effect! I use it all the time with computers.

The headlight relay is tripped when the bike starts, maybe that signa; was being affected by the old TCI? hmmmm

I put LEDs all the way around on my decked standard, with LED flashers. It works great, but I lost the self cancel feature. I now have a green backlit dash.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

May be he fixed it when he redid the fuse box then noticed it working after he installed the second TCI and the engine started. To many variables at this point

Ok... if i am running lean, isnt that what rejetting the carbs should fix? IT does back fire on hard deceleration.
I just put my new jets in and that popping sound is nearly gone. My guess is that if you jet up like I did you'll get the same result.
