  • 1982 XJ1100 Maxim deluxe

I purchased this bike 26 years ago and have run it every year.

I have purchased a New V twin (what a mistake) it can't compare to
    my XJ1100.

I need new pipes from the engine to the mufflers ,where can they be purchased ??
two (2) to (1) one right and left .

I intend to restore it to its original glory while on my V twin >?

Email me if you like !

    Thanks

If the pipes are sound, just rusty, they can be sent off to a place called Jet Hot to be re-coated. The finish is chrome-like.. not quite as good as chrome, but close. From 5 feet away, you can't tell. With this coating, they'll never blue again.

Sadly, you can't get these exhausts new any more except through MAC, but that header is a single walled pipe versus the stocks' double wall.. and you'll always have trouble with it blueing.

        Thanks a bunch !

I was thinking about doing just that getting them re-chromed there is a place in Nanticoke Pa,18634 Kelly plating (think they might do it ! )

I never heard of it (jet hot ), is that a web site ?

Do you have any idea of the cost ? IT would be just as good or maybe better
if it high temp. epoxy it won't rust !

Most places won't re-chrome a used header pipe since all the carbon in a used pipe messes up their tanks, but I contacted these people and they said they would do our headers for $300 last time I talked to them, and said the chrome would be much thicker than stock... but I don't know if they mean the chrome that was originally on there, or the super thin layer that they use now on new bikes.

Last I heard about the Jet Hot coating was that it was @ $200. Their website is..

I think the jet-hot is the better idea because of the imperfect

condition of the rusted pipes !( Plus it sounds like a bargin )

Thanks a lot ! Really appreciate the info .

P.S. it Riley plating in Nanticoke 570-735-7777 ( not sure if they will do it )
