  • I am sooooo bumbed.....

Finished the electrical work that needed to be done in the headlight bucket....

My battery is junk, well it held enuf' of a charge to start the motor, only once warmed up,
Now it won't even do that, and my jump box layed over and died, too!
it's 72 degrees today, and I can't ride the darn thing!
all I can do is sit there and wave at all the other bikes that go by the house...about 10 an hour!
oh well, guess I'll ride the tractor around the yard, instead!
    dang it

Wal-Mart has our batteries for about $40. They'll last about 2 years.
    2H7 (79) owned since '89

Renegade - I feel your pain, brother. I was all set to go riding last night when I found a 16 penny nail in my back tire. Why is it that stuff never happens when it's raining?
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

Well, I kinda got the battery box working,
it amazing what happens you you flip the on/off switch to ON

Got to ride around the block a couple of times, not much gas, only had 1 gallon in the can
Can't shut it off, box won't hold enuf' of a charge either
not gonna tempt that Murphy Fella,

now the only problem is....I wanna ride it even more

YOUR bummbed? I gotta new battery in two of the bikes, they are all washed, cleaned and fueled, ready to go. Oil changed and new brakes, two new tires, can't get any more ready than that.
ME? I slipped and fell getting off of a fork lift this morning and broke a bunch of ribs so now I get to spend the next few months sitting in my recliner and looking out the window at the bikes going past.
Forgot to remember to bounce when I fell so as to distribute the bruises evenly!

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

Ohhh... That sucks!! Why didn't you do that in November instead?? Sorry to hear of your accident, but glad you're still in one piece. Gotta be careful with that large equipment. Take it easy, and maybe you'll be rewarded with quick healing and a long summer.

Hey Renegade, yank the battery out of your car, tie it on to the passenger seat, hook up some jumper cables, hook them up to the bike terminals, tape them up, siphon some gas and you should be unconventionally good to go. ........kinda just kidding. Mike in S.Diego

If the battery will hold at least 10.5 volts while running.. (I'd check that your alternator is up to 13-14 volts while running at @ 2k rpm or so first) these bikes push start really easily if the carbs are in good order. Get it rolling, jump on, and pop it up into 2nd. 1st gear will just make it skid to a stop.

gentlemen, and I use that term carefully
great idea's....all of them, I'd already thought of them,
well, that's how I had my jump box hooked-up, but in the right side hard bag
but I was gonna steal the battery from the riding lawn mower, not the wife's car
