  • Neverdull for polishing your engine, etc.

OK, after seeing so many of the bike photos on here where you guys have them looking so freakin new, I had to get off my butt and work on my own engine. Now I have tried the dremmel tool and got frustrated at how long it took just to do a little area....that and having to replace the pad every five to ten minutes.

So I figured I'd give this Neverdull a go since we used it all the time in the military for brass, etc. Man, it seems to be much easier, at least I think so. Just a nice sunny day sitting in my chair out front polishing away. It's not finished but I think it looks so much better. Maybe you guys can tell from the photos...maybe not.

Just thought I would pass this idea along if any of you were unfamiliar with the Neverdull.

I like Mothers Billet polish. Seems to work really well.

Get a Mothers Mini-PowerBall, chuck it in a drill and cut your work in half. You can get "refills" for it when it wears out. Mothers aluminium polish is good stuff, Simichrome is the standard of excellence in metal polish as far as I am concerned. If you go on-line, your can find some real trick polishing goodies. They make em in a bunch of shapes so can get into every nook and cranny. When they get dirty, just pitch em the washer (but not with the other laundry, oh, its not a pretty site, not pretty at all).

If you realy want to make them shine you need to get a high speed buffer.

If it moves, salute it, and if it doesn't, polish it. Right?

Me too! Only it was brass. We used Brasso also. I wonder how that would work on aluminum?

I used Nevr-dull a long time ago and never again, at least not on chrome. After using it about a dozen times on some chrome wheels I noticed it had been wearing down the chrome in some places exposing bare metal! Just my warning from experience.

And Brasso works ok on aluminum.

                          I agree with Oss,
jewlers rougue with a bench buffer for the side covers
and the dremel for the hard to get areas.

any excuse for a pic. lol

I got them at a local Yamaha dealership in Manchester, NH. I saw the same pegs in the Dennis Kirk catalog. I had a problem mounting them so they wouldn't sag as the mounting device where the bolt goes through (up and down) doesn't fill up the gap close enough. I had to cement some washers inside to make up the difference.
