    Exhaust modification?

I just installed a full Pacifico Kit; Fairing, hard bags and trunk.
In order to install the right bag, I had to move my muffler.
I am running a 4-1 exhaust, but I don't know who the manufacturer is.
With the muffler bracket mounted to the right footpeg mount, the muffler is pointing upward a little too much. (about 2-1/2").

By removing the bracket bolt, and loosening the clamp at the collector, I was able to turn the muffler outward and down.

I REALLY don't want to go looking for new exhaust. Is it possible to have a muffler shop re-bend the pipe to get the necessary angle for clearance without crimping-down on the airflow through the pipe?
Has anyone else come accross this?

    Hi,
I can't help you with exhaust, sorry, but I was curious on where you located your saddle bags. I have checked ebay, does anyone know a good source for hard saddlebags? Is it possible to modify old Goldwing or other saddlebags?

On my 78 I had the same problem with the Jardine 4 into 2 hitting the hardbags. I raised the bags (2" in my case) on the mounting brackets to clear the mufflers. I redrilled the mounting holes (in the bags) then used small machine screws/nuts with nylon washers in the old holes to seal them. If I ever revert to the stock exhaust (yeah, right) I can move them back down.
      I would include a close-up picture but I see I can't post attachments.
Email me if you'd like one.

Cool, Pat, thanks for the idea. I will check to see if that would work in my situation.
I will contact you offline if it looks like a picture will be helpfull.
