Took out the sending unit, cleaned it good, ohms all read within specs (after a little tweaking) but the led is always on 4 bars..anyone have any ideas?

When you took the unit out was the float bar parallel with the "box"? Perhaps it's hitting something inside the tank that's keeping the float from moving? All that's inside the box is a potentiometer, and assuming it's clean in there and the wires are connected, I don't think there is much to go wrong on that end. Could be the gauge itself not working properly. My $.02.I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
