  • EMGO round 54mm individual filters...tip!

After reinstalling my carbs after a little tweaking (putting the original brass floats back in after testing them - had plastic 80 floats in) I had trouble with my #3 EMGO individual filter going on. I now have a trick to it.

After you have the filters securely attached, do NOT remove that clamp unless you are going to dip the carbs. You can actually remove the filter from the rubber part that is clamped to the carb.

Also, if you are trying to tighten down those clamps and the darn filter keeps popping off, try removing the filter from the rubber part, mount that rubber part, then attached the filter again. In addition, if you are having an extraordinary time getting the #3 and #4 to mount, try flippin g the clamp so that the screw will be on top instead of on bottom and press against the bottom of the clamp while tightening the clamp.

The first time I mounted these filters, one of them popped off about 1/4 mile down the road and I had to remount it in the dark...not fun - I am now satisfied with the tightness I was able to aquire with my above method

Also, don't forget to rig up some kind of carb mount so the carb boots don't get destroyed...
