Years ago there was a fellow named Chris Rawson, but he doesn't do that anymore. Then there was RANDY our electrical guru, but he also stopped doing it due to difficulty in getting the parts, etc.. There are many sources to get SS lines.

I remember seeing a place on Ebay called RicePaddy or such, they sold custom length cables. Good Luck shopping!

Don't hold me to this, but I think Z1 enterprises makes or sells ss lines, they have a female 45 degree flare nut on the end so as you can add the appropriate banjo bolt thing. I think I saw them on their website, but that was a while ago. hope thishelps, have a nice day and ride safe

          Custom SS Lines

For Local Sourcing, I'd try your local Parker Store,
I used to buy fittings and stuff from a place that used them for custom hoses
Do a google search locally for a Parker Fittings Store
Maybe try a brake shop, or even your local Tractor Supply Store

But you may have better luck with Dennis Kirk, or similar

          Good Luck, John

In wichita there is a place called Hyspeco. You can take in your old lines (from just about anything) and they will replicate them. I would imagine they would have replacement banjo fittings, but if not, I have seen them use the old ones.

I have no doubt, they could do the SS braided type.

I would look into finding some place near you like Hyspeco, and see if they can set up up. I would start by looking in the yellow pages for 'Hydraulic supplies"

ok, did a search (I'm sitting in a otel room, so I've got nothing better to do) Spiegler sells a SS line kit for the XS11, Fronts are 143.95, rear is 56.95. you have to attach the banjo bolts to the lines (45 degree flare nut) I've heard some folks say they don't like that design, don't know myself. hope this helps, have a nice day and ride safe

I've got to make another tech tip!!

I got mine from www.HELUSA.com . One of the suggestions to save $$ is to use only 2 lines from the MC to the calipers instead of the 1 into 2 via the splitter. Same volume of fluid needed, and you save $$ on 1 less set of fittings which is really where the cost comes in. HELUSA will make custom lengths and colors, have a variety of angled banjo fittings. Just use a string to measure the length you want allowing for slack for shock travel and such.

Can also go to your local Harley Shop, same sized hoses/banjo fittings...10mm. Just the metric bolts and new crush washers, and the double length bolt for the 2 lines at the MC!

Dennis Kirk also sells a couple of brands of SS brake line parts. You figure out what configuration and how many banjos you want, what lengths and how namy of each line, and you order just what you want. From reading their catalog and comparing to what you already have, you'll be able to figure out the angles at each end, and running some string will give you the line lengths. IIRc, I've got Goodrich on Tsunami and Russel on SWMBO's Purple Reign (both '81 Hs)

I got my S/S lines and other brake parts from www.Cyclebrakes.com . I don't know how they compare in price but the service was wonderful. I talked to ED there and my brake lines were shipped same day. They have a kit for the front brakes at least for my 79SF. The back line I custom ordered to just have one line back there and they do anything you want. They offer colors as well.

                        Hi bigray,
Dennis Kirk offers a SS brake hose system that has a chart of various hose lengths and another chart of different end fittings that will thread onto the ends of the hoses. A kinda U-build-it kit.
                        Or e-mail these guys:-

I need to replace my brake lines as well. I've heard that Royal Brass in San Jose has the clearance to make SS brake lines now. I'm going to take mine off and hed down there in a few days. I'll report back with the results and $

                              Ray,
You can also try Road Rider for both brake lines and possibly the cables. I know they can point you in the right direction, if nothing else.
