  • XS1100 Stator/Alternator Cover

well i have an xs1100 that leaks oil from the stator/alternator cover.. There looks like there is a rivit or factory cut in the bottom of the cover where an oil plug sits. It leaks oil from there and not quite sure if that is normal or supposed to be there. What should i do?

You likely have oil getting past the gallery plug that sits in a hole (oil gallery) behind that cover. The inside of the cover is a dry area. If it's not the gallery plug then it's likely the crank end seal.
