  • Emulsion tube order

What is the order of placement for the emulsion tubes. There are obvioulsy 2 with the same amount of holes and 2 with a different amount of hole. Being a dumb A$$, I did not pay attention when I disassembled.
    Thanx

That's kind of wierd - all mine are the same. I wonder if someone replaced tubes with aftermarket variety. I know on aftermarket pilot jets they sometimes have holes in the sides and sometimes don't, but with the same specs. Don't know if that applies to emulsion tubes or not. Are there any markings on the tubes? Also, on 80 and later carbs the #2 and #3 carbs were jetted differently than #1 and #4 for emissions purposes (smaller jets on 2 & 3), but I don't know if the emulsion tubes were different.

I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

That's what I thought too. These are off of some cabs I bought off ebay, so no telling. I know the two inside cyclnders were suppose to be different for cooling purposes but I did not think they did that in the emulsion tube. I would be curious to see if someone has an old microfiche to see if the part nos. are different. These are 78-79 carbs by the way!

Yamaha still has the fiche with part numbers, as do many oem parts suppliers. Here's a link to the fiche - http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx Click on the button on the right at the bottom - "Proceed to Parts Catalog" - and fill in the particulars for your machine.

Phil - Looks like 13 more posts and you've hit the big time .
