    This is the 1978 XS1100 I bought a few days ago.

        Very nice bagger!! Even got the leg covers for the fairing. Sweet looking ride!

          Thanks. She's going to need a paint job and a good going through. Seems to be a solid ride.

                  If you put new tires on it.. then disregard.. but if you didn't, you might want to check the manufacturing date on them before you get too wild. I had a blow out on a new "Looking" tire once. Turns out it was @ 15 years old. If yours are more than 4-5 years old, I'd consider replacing them. You can find the date stamp on the sidewall like this...




                  The first two letters are the week it was made.. 2nd two are the year. So the tire in this pic was made in the 15th week of 2005.

                  Nice ride by the way, and welcome to the site. Cute "significant other" in your photo album also.

                    Thanks for the info. Tires appear to be good almost new in front but plan on replacing both. You are talking about the pitbull aren't you? LOL
