Source for a Rear MC Kit for MNS - 11/16

I gave up waiting. The graveyard guy ordered the kit that he thinks is right, but he tells me it's been backordered. Something tells me that it will never arrive. So, I mentioned to him that the MC off the XJ would work, so he offered to sell it to me! He's gonna take it off the bike there in the shop, and have it ready for me tomorrow. He wants $75 plus my old 11/16" MC as a trade. I'm kinda desperate, so I'm just gonna bite the bullet and do it. I just hope this works out... Wish me luck !

Woohoo!!! I have brakes again!! It was a very frustrating process, and I pumped about 2 cups of fluid through the front half of the system. I ran the MC dry a couple of times, so that added to my frustration. My neighbor (a professional mechanic) came over and he helped me finesse it into submission. We adjusted the plunger rod, and I took it for a spin around the block just to test it. Evidently, the hard metal tube that runs up under the gas tank for the left front caliper tends to collect air, and causes a broblem with bleeding. I'm told that pressure bleeding would have been a better method, but I don't have a way to accomplish that at this point. Maybe next time I'll look into a tool for that. I'm so glad it's working again. It's a huge relief. Now I can get it inspected and licensed again (all bike tags in Missouri expire at the end of April).

Glad to hear your brakes are back. I bought one of these at Harbor Freight, and it's great. Best $20 i've spent.

I bought the Mity Vac version of this, a little more money, looks like the HF version is just as good.

I use this as my vacuum gague for synching my carbs as well. Very versatile tool.
