you can use them, you just need to make them so the dont turn when you tighten the nut.- dan

Lowes had the carriage bolts that I am using. You are right about needing something above them. What did I use...I think it was popsicle stick pieces. :-)Originally posted by Stray Bullet

I was thinking about having bolts welded to flat stock, as Stray Bullet suggested. I also have one seat with the carriage bolts on it, but didn't like how loose they were. The popcicle stick idea from Skids was very original, and along the lines of something I might do. Thanks for the ideas.HighlanderComment
