  • two up aka queen king seat.

I bought a two up seat from ponderayyamahamotors.com they are parting out a 1980 xs11 special. Unfortunately they failed to mention it had been modified so the seat would fit. It looks like I could remove the aluminum seat guard and reposition the taillight has anyone done this and if so how did you mount it lower down on the rear fender. Far as I can tell I will have to remove it from its plastic holder and fabricate something there appears to be two bolts a couple of inches back will these work any info would be appreciated. They said they would refund my money if I sent it back beings it took 9 days to get here I think I will try to rig something up riding season is approaching rapidly.

I also have a king/queen seat I'm trying to get rid of... But to my knowledge it is on a completely stock bike... I still have the aluminum grab bar and taillight that appear to be in their normal location...

Doorsfan: It may be easier to help if you can post a couple pics 1 of the back of the bike and one of the seat....
I've noticed that there are a couple of different seat pans for these bikes, some will crossover some won't

        Hi Dan,
As I understand your post, the seat you bought for your XS11SG won't fit unless you remove the cast aluminum grab-rail? And as the grab-rail holds the tail light, you need to mount the tail light someplace else?
The best quick fix is to buy a smaller generic tail light and mount it in place of the XS11SG's separate number plate light.
Carefully save the grab-rail and the stock rear and number plate lights so you can put them back on when you sort out the seat problem once the riding season is over.
