  • master cylinder

    rebuilt it once and no go.... so...questions


    spring has open end and plate end... plate end to cylinder open end to threads..? (so the fluid can get out? )

    rubber seal cup end to spring?

    thats how its shown. on my photo...
    if i put the plate end to the threads it blocks the hole

    cup between clyinder and springs... cup end to spring?

    am i missing any parts?

    success maybe...

    its making a popping sucking sound when i pump it now...
    maybe i got something backwards the first time?

      Don't forget to "bench bleed" the master!! It will NOT work unless you do!
      With the master in a vise, between two blocks of wood, or something to hold it, add a little brake fluid, and with one finger on the port for the brake line, squeeze the brake handle all the way. You will have some air escape, but that is good. Keep the hole covered while you let go of the handle, and then repeat until you have brake fluid coming out, and cannot hold it with your finger.
      This will make bleeding on the bike MUCH easier.

                From what I can see, the inner cup is on backwards, and it will not generate any kind of pressure that way, except when you release the brake. Then it will force the fliud back into the reservior.
