    Hi
    i am new to the site .
    Need help .
    My brother as an xs 1100 1979 .
    He is telling me he just got the carburator rebuilt .
    idle ok but it wont rev down quickley.

    Got to sync the carbs with gauges or mercury sticks. Out of sync carbs is the main reason for your symptoms. Also, make sure your vacuum advance unit is hooked to the #2 carb body and not the intake boot.

      One other item you may check after synching the carbs is a vacuum leak. Check all the boots are tight etc...

        just getting my free 79 special running. The advance was going to the boot not the carb thanks for the hint!!! The tach would climb and climb I would have to shut it off so it wouldn't blow up. swapped the location of the advance vacuum line now it idles at 2k. time for a snych

          And time turn down the idle. Aim for about 1100 rpm.
