Ray, you are correct, I had broken fuel line pieces in my inlets that got to the float needles. I did pull it apart and clean it out. I also switched fuel lines to the fuel rated vinyl lines (have not found a local source for Viton yet).
Yes, I do agree you HAVE to fix the source of the leak. Really, if the float valve is leaking, it does not go away when the bike runs, and you get a flooding cylinder or the least a VERY rich cylinder that will foul out, at least that is my experience.
I just feel ALOT safer about things shutting the valves off. Even when I had the Octy I did I did it that way. That way if it does develop a leak, it does not fill my air box or something and cause a fire like I have read about.
