XJ1100J Shock size?

Can't tell from the manual which of these are right (I'm a writer, not a mechanic ...)

They have air shocks as well, but I think these will do fine and look fine.

The length of a stock shock is 12.5 inches eye to eye. If you want to lower your bike a little, then try the 12 inchers.

So I tried something novel ... I went to Progressive's web site:

12.5" is the recommended, as John said. (My apologies for doubting you.)

I'm leaning toward the 412 Series:

Anyone have any thoughts on whether that's a good choice.

While the list is $297, they can be had for $197 from MAW.

The 12, 18, 416 and 418 Series will also fit this bike.
