Valve Adjustment Help

I recently did a top end on on my 80SG but I don't have the expertise to do the valve adjustment. I read the threads on site about valve adjustment but I am still uncertain about the details. What I need to know is if anyone in California, especially So. California, that knows of a shop or mechanic that has the expertise do the adjustment? Any help would be appreciated as I would like to get the bike running.
