  • carb idle ?

just cleaned the carbs on my 81sh bike fired right up idle's alittle rough but i havent sync them yet, cant figure out why when i crack the throttle up to 4000 rpm it will stick there for a couple of seconds and slowly come down to idle, i checked the throttle cable and it's not sticking and i can see it drop down quick on the carbs does anybody know what could cause this ?
    thank you

Did you get the vacuum lines reconnected and in the right locations? The vac advance goes to the no 2 carb. Your octopus vacuum line goes to the no2 boot at the head side.

    Check for other vacuum leaks?

      DGXSER is correct.
A vacuum leak somewhere can cause the idle to hang.
A bad synch can do the same... as all carbs aren't working the same.
Carb synch can be thrown off just by the twisting and yanking that's done when removing and replacing the carbs on the bike.
