  • Rim swap for a midnight special.

I know, I know,,, Another rim swap thread.

I did search around though and I wanted to make absolutley sure of this before I bought this 2.15 X 18 rear rim for my midnight special. The rim comes from a 77' XS-750. I read around and from what I understand it should be a straight swap right? Can someone help me out? I just need to be sure...

    rim swap

Hi Bear, I started the lengthy rim swap for the MNS around 8 months ago. THe rim swap does work well. I have a 80'MNS and a 82 XJ and the drop in revs on highway speed is very noticable. The rim is a 2.15X18 and fits nicely in the MNS. Go back to the thread and read up on it. AlanB, another member, in England is the man for info. and super knowledgeable on these swaps. The swap fixes the main problem on these bikes, the high revving at highway speeds. Good luck and contact the thread and AlanB for more info. Regards, Mike in San Diego

      Straight swap

HEy Bear, forgot to say that it is a straight swap, no problem with rear end, or brake calipers or discs. Plug and play.........Mike in San Diego
