  • Carbkit Capital Idle screws

Has any one ordered the idle screws from Carbkit Capital lately ?

I just got mine today and the thread diameter is to big. They will not fit. Just a little bummed right now.

I haven't ordered any, but, did you get the right kit? There is the early type carbs (78-79) and the late type (80-81) and they don't interchange. JAT

According to this page they fit all carbs, they do not list different years

If you got the 48-1625's, those are for the 80-81 carbs. That listing is wrong and they don't fit all carbs (78-81).

Yep, I don't see the ones you need listed there except in those complete kits. You do have a 78 or a 79, right?

You need the mixture screws for the older style BS-34 II type carbs. I got them from Bikebandit before, but they are more expensive over there. You might want to contact Capitalcarbs and say, WTF? Mabye someone will chime in with a cheaper source for them.

I already emailed them, hopefully they will make it right .

The worst part is the bike will have to be down for another week.

That is interesting. I emailed them about a week ago and told them that they had the screws (80's) mis-labeled as 'Fits All Years'. Needless to say, I received no reply.

When you send them back, do so at THEIR expense!! They have already cost you time, because THEY have the wrong part listed!! The right part would be the same on the early 650's, about '77 through '79. Mikesxs may work, if they carry the BS-34II carbs.

They emailed me and told me to return them and try and source them somewhere else because based on their information they will fit all models.

I actually ordered the complete Keyster carb kits for the 78, hopefully they will have the right screw contained in them.

                          I ordered some.....

for my '79F and they were fine. Except that I had the series 3 carbs as on my 80G and they were fine.

I would demand a phone number, call them up, and "educate" them on XS11 idle screws. And yes they should pay to have them shipped.

I received the complete rebuild kits form Carb Kit Capital and they contain the proper idle mixture screws.

I pointed this out to them in an email so hopefully they will update the website.
