Thanks for all the suggestions. I "kinda" combined several ideas and with some time and effort and only one pinched finger got it in. Also the engine and frame were not of concern re a few add'l scrapes.
I put the engine on a flat type furniture dolly and board by board levered the engine to the height of the frame and slide in in rear first. All parts were on ie head and filter. It would have been easier without the filter. I then used a floor jack with a board softener to turn and move it as necessary and with some efforts and a number of turns, lifts and a few choice words it finally slipped into place.
The next question was the engine had been sitting for an unknown period of time and showed some serious rust. But with it in the frame I took off the alternator cover and with a chain wrench on the "flywheel " and a short pipe extender it broke loose. Its is still not real loose but a whole lot better.
