Gas Tank Sealer Removal

After tweaking it back into shape by eyeballing it, it slid right into place. Great fit. As for seam leaks, I think I will go with the original plan and reseal it for added insurance. But that will have to wait for warmer weather. I do not dare do that in the house.

Well I did the KREEM KRAAP thing and did not work for me so I decided to put some acetone in it and will wait over night to see what came. When I cleaned the tank it had no rust left do I really need to coat the tank if I have no holes or leaks

You won't need to coat the tank if you keep gas in there. I understand you can use a dilute solution of phosphoric acid in there to finish off any rust that is left. Supposed to leave a coating of iron phosphide when done. I will be doing that to one of my tanks in a week or so.
