Pipe Bluing / Running hot? Fix?

On my SG (80 Special) the pipe from the #3 cyl (Left to Right From Back of Bike) seems to be bluing XSively... I am told that it is probably running hot... though no one has offered a "fix" for this. Any tips?

Can indicate lean running
