The stock XJ system is not a direct swap-over. The header pipes swing a little bit wider to clear the XJ's brush style alternator on the engine's right side. This should not cause any problems in mounting, but the muffler mounts to the rear set (Foot peg bracket) are different from model to model. The XJ mount is farther forward than the XS11. Not a major issue, as re-doing the mounts is not a big problem, but the result can look a little kluged together if you don't do a good job.
Just curious, why part out the XJ?Jerry Fields

Don't know if the rear sets swap or not. Have only owned 1 XS11, that was a '78 std and never tried swapping the rear sets. Since Shadowvts has both bikes, its worth a try!Jerry Fields
