Would you happen to know where Blacks Canyon is? There used to be a bunch of hang gliders flying around in the area, and there was a creek that had a smooth, rock slide at a swimming hole. I used to ride out there when I was in the Navy in SD back in the late 70's, but I can't seem to find it on a map. The Town of Pomona sounds familiar, but I'm not sure. It's been a loooong time.

You might be thinkin' of Black's Beach .... which is in La Jolla kinda' underneath the Torrey Pines GC. Used to be lots of hang gliders there and nude bathers too

No, not Black's Beach, I spent a LOT of time at Blacks Beach. Went there last in 92, and could hardly recognize the place, and had a hard time finding the road that led to the top of the cliff.
This place was inland. Romona sounds right, it's just been so long ago...sigh

this is possibly the area, and in fact, Garth, myself, Soccer4m, Eagletom and 3Phase were all riding right in that area today. The link is actually a campground .... so there's their 'pitch' to sort through but it might could be the spot your thinkin' of.

That sounds like the place. I rode to so many places when I was there, that I can't remember what area I was in, but I remember I liked it. I loved the ride to Palomar.
