Seat question

Can anyone tell me if a 79 special seat cover will fit a 80 special seat pan?Are they the same?
There are some covers on ebay and I asked the seller and he doesnt know if they will work.I have a king/gueen on my bike that I hate.I also have the original seat but it has a small tear in it,so I want to recover it and install it on my bike.

Special seat covers

I'm pretty sure they are different. I've seen listings for 79 Special seat covers before and 79 was always by itself. The 80-81 seat has a cutaway in the back for the tail lite. The 79's tail lite is located by the licence plate so no cutaway in the rear of the seat.

I am pretty sure that the 78 and 79 are the same but forward yrs differ. I am not sure how much but different they are.

The '79 seat cover is unique to any other model.

The '80 version has a hole cut out of the back for the rear lights to fit.
