    Correct.
Upper Tees vents, lower Tees fuel.
Vacuum line from the vacuum advance unit goes to the port on #2 carb,

        bike running

Yaahoooo The old girl fired right up and sounded pretty darn good. I still have a few minor details like breather filters and my gasket on my oil filter cover did not seat correctly so it is leaking. I had intended on just idling for a while and changing the oil again as a flush because the oil I changed out was the gassy stuff. So now I have to anyway. When she runs with no leaks I am going to take it to my mechanic and have him sync the carbs then I should be ready to roll the next time the streets are dry.

Thank all of you for all your help and advice.

          Be careful ...

not to overtighten the oil filter cover bolt. That cover can crack pretty easily ... there are some o rings in the bolt/cover assy so be sure they are there and correctly seated .... you have a manual, right?

Yep I have a manual, the o ring slipped out in one spot hence the leak . I will try to get to it today but my boss has some crown moulding she says is calling my name. I see a tow truck coming to pull me out of my man cave.

Ugh, crown moulding. I really hate that stuff. To me it looks gaudy.

Your penance shall be to baptize thy self in gear oil (sprinkling is ok, unless you really feel the need for full immersion), and ride around the block three times with open headers screaming "Hail Mary!!!"

                Crown moulding is cool.
Adds a touch of class (not that I need any) for a relatively low price.
If only they made "wavy" crown moulding, to match the wavy parts of my ceiling.

tried sending a pic of the finnished product but could not get it out of my kodak easy share. And yes I did take her for a spin and got the crown done.

She ran ok for my test run still a little popping can't decide if I should jet up or just get carbs synced and see what happens. I assume popping means too much air so the direct mount of my pods is not restricting flow. Any advice?

I would get the carbs synched FIRST, and then go on to rejet as needed. If it's popping as you slow down, a little bit of a turn on the mixture screws may fix it.

I would synch the carbs, definately. This should be done before final adjustments with mixture screws (pilot screws). If you have a non-stock exhaust ststem and it pops a little on deceleration, IMHO you should expect this to possibly happen, even if you have the carbs optimized. No big deal. Tune the carbs for wide open throttle (or at least no fade at high speed), mid range without dead spots in the range, and idle conditions up to 3000 rpms. Don't sweat the small stuff. Don't worry, be happy.

pardon another rookie question, but the vents should go...? doubtful their meant to be left to the open air, which is the case on mine right now
