I've never had to re-jet the series III carbs before. I'm going up 2 sizes in the mains, my question is do I make all 4 the same size, or 2 sizes up from what's in 1+4 and 2 up from what's in 2+3. I'm only familiar with re-jetting the series II carbs where everything is the same straight across the board. Any help would be appreciated.

Most people just use all the same size. I think it was just one year that they did that on... but I've been wrong before. All the other bikes are fine with the same size on all 4.. so under the assumption it would be fine with these also.
Honestly, a one size change will make very little if any noticeable difference.

I'm running 120's all across with a drilled airbox with a K&N and a Jardine 4 to 1 on my 81 special. I had the 110/120 set up before on the stock airbox and exhaust. It's much smoother with all the mains the same size. I mean - think about it. How do you balance cylinders that are not all getting the same amount of fuel? I say make 'em all the same.. Topcat's running 117.5's all across and he recommended the jets size I'm running. I've been very happy with the way she runs.Tim Ripley - Gaithersburg, MD

I have a set of 125's on hand, so I'll try those all the way across instead of 117.5 outers and 120 inners. With a drilled airbox and Jardine 4-2 flare outs, and mabye try the floats at 22mm. Thanks.2H7 (79) owned since '89
