Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack

Hello All,


A friend of mine just handed me a sissy bar with a luggage rack. Lucky Me

Now here is the question. Where does it mount to? I have a 1980 xs1100 special with the grab bar. Can I mount the sissy bar/luggage rack with the grab bar on? Looks if I remove the grab bar I will loose the mount for my rear brake light. I hope not.

For mounting my luggage rack on my 81... we took the grab rail off... and yes... did lose the mount for the light but it would have been blocked by the rack anyway... I have a 79 tail light that sits down on the fender on mine now...

I think it depends on the type of rack you have... as to what you'll need to do to mount it...

Mine appears to be stock and or custom for the bike. It mounts by pulling the bolts that mount the tail light and has flanges that go between the bolt and the tail light bracket, and then pulling the hex bolts holding the rear brace in place and installing longer ones through the rack and the brace.
