K&N filter size

I thought I was all set with a k&n for my 80G but this one is two small for my air box . I went to the K&N site but the only list one filter size? The filter I have is in great shape and came off a 78 XS1100 I had a few years a go. Did Yamaha change the filter size? Filter number is YA140 which now is a YA1400 Does anyone know when it changed?. I had a k&n filter on my bike.I let it sit out for a long time out of airbox during rebuild. When i went to put it back in it would not fit anymore.I think it shrunk. I tried heat gun to stretch it and alot of other ways to make it fit again.NO luck went and bought new filter different brand fit good problem solved

I had one, and it shrunk too. It was tapered on one end to about half the size needed.

So much for lifetime filters!

Try to contact K&N and get them to replace it!!
