Thats a very nice item but I always get suspicious when the bidding starts early and goes high fast when there is a couple of users with zero history.

Could be that it's just a few inexperienced bidders but it could also be a couple of bogus accounts the seller uses to drive up the price

Might be legit but it does make me wonder..

I checked out some of his earlier auctions, same thing HERE in this auction

Nope its not bogus...I had to reregister on ebay and my rating is zero so I am legitimately bidding on this. The seller is quite reliable and I have every confidence this is legitimate...I will keep y'all informed.I had to make several bids to get clear of those that had automatic bids so believe it.

        E-Bay

Ben i have bought a few items on E-Bay and find if you bid early you drive up the price if you leave the item till the last 10 mins then start bidding ...most times it will go cheaper. JMHO

              Hi 'blue,
yeah, the bucket is notched but the rubber thingie ain't. It's a stone bitch to wiggle the instrument in and out of there without wrecking that rubber thingie unless you pull the reset knob first.

I bought my 160 speedo for $50 on ebay.It had 1750 miles on it.The funny thing was my old speedo was gummed up from sitting for 24 years so it moved slowly.Well I had been watching ebay and got into a bidding war on a 140 unit and won it,I think I paid $70 for it.Well when I won that I had just found the 160 and started watching it so I wasnt going to bid it since I won the 140.Any to make a long story short I kept watching the 160 and noone was bidding it for some reason.Somebody bid it at like $25 a day or so before auction end.The last day the guy still had a low bid so at the end I figured what the heck Ill bid it at 52.00(I always bid a little past a round number, and I usually wait till auctin end).I won it.
Now (earlier this year)I'm still waiting to get the speedos I won so I take apart my original 85 mph unit (it only had 600 something original miles on it). I found it just needed cleaned of old lube and relubed. So I put it back on and ran it up till I reached the 1750miles (It took about 5 or 6 weeks)that the new 160 read and then switched.I still have the 85 and the 140.I'll have to get around to selling them.

I screwed the strategy for getting this cheaper...so I know you all aren't rubbing it inFrom now on I'll wait for the last 10 mins in an auction...as it is I'm pretty sure I have bagged this speedo...so far so good

It is worth what someone will pay.I didnt mean to rub it in.I was just sharing the luck I had.I should watch myself I suppose. And in my opinion(for what that is worth)for a brand new 160 speedo,it should be worth a good price. So bid what you are willing to pay and enjoy if you win.Good luck.

P.S.If you get it,before install it may be wise to take a q-tip with light oil on it and oil the gear through the hole in the back. The old grease is probably a little dry from sitting on a shelf somewhere.

Tarzan... didn't mean to imply you were rubbing it in...I value your opinion so theres no need to "watch it".I would expect people to tell it like it is as long as its constructive criticism,I dont mind hearing it.Varying points of view are welcomed. Thanks for the advice about giving it some oil I prolly would not have thought of itI'll update this at the end of the auction
