Found this post at VentureRiders.org. What I am wondering is if it wouldn't work on the XS or XJ's as well?

used to do that on cars to find vacuum leaks around the intake area. not looking for tone, but when you get too close to the vacuum, it'll about suck your brain out through your ear. It isn't comfortable. That's why I bought an electronic stethoscope. Maybe I will try using it some time.
