  • Another Fuse Block Upgrade

After putting it off much too long I've finally started my fuse block upgrade. It was harder than I ever thought it would be to find those damn 90 degree wire terminals. I stopped at several places on my way to Radio Shack because....well......I really don't like shopping there. I've had too many problems with the quality of their goods and they never seem to have exactly what I'm looking for. In two of the places I stopped the guy behind the counter just shook his head saying they stocked no such item, and the other two looked at me weird, like they had never heard of such an item. I finally wound up a Radio Shack and found what I needed.

Sorry if the pics are a bit blurry, I used my camera phone.

Here is the lovely wiring job done by the PO. The taillight fuse was moved outside of the fuse block and the headlight fuse was replaced with a wire nut!

Old fuse block out and new block mounted. I couldn't use any of the original mounting holes and still have the wires clear the steel mounting plate behind everything there. A couple of zip ties later she's mounted just as snugly as if I used two screws, plus all of my wires will be routed straight back through that plate.
I know this, because Tyler knows this.

I have exactly the same fuse block. When I mounted mine I used one of the existing mounting holes, and it just left enough room to hold the other side down with the head of the bolt. Here's a pic:
