Of course the high rise cruiser bars won't work either & forget a bought that 4 foot wide tail light and giant stem blinkers.

I have new full floating rotors on the way from EBC (thanks to everyone) & my SS lines are on a shelf until Mikes, or any one else, gets in new stock of the 13mm maser cylinder I want, I also plan on trying my hand @ seat reshaping.

until then I guess I'll just enjoy!

Great work so far! Love the headlight and the small turn signals. It really makes me want to start working on my bike before winter even hits. Where did you get the headlight and blinker setup? Also what are the specs on the headlebars?

Other than that... everything looks great.
A small suggestion...
Maybe it wasn't possable due to the wire harness lengths of the new guages but...
I'd flip the headlight over. The hole for the wire looms should be at the bottom so that rain/washing water doesn't get in, and if it does, said water can drain out.

Thanks everyone, It always makes it worth while to get those little complements. joebus, I got the head light on ebay. The lens is a conversion to a...H3 or something, not HID but you just replace the small bulb like a newer bike would. No more dismantling the entire assembly just to change the bulb! I don't remember the exact measurements on the handle bars. They are actually not my favorite, should have got plain "super bike bars" these have a little less rise I think 1.75" or 2, a little more pull back maybe 4", but in has an awkward slope down in the pull back, same width around 30-31", sorry I don't know for sure, got them on ebay as well but any online catalog stocks almost all this stuff. I'm just an ebay junkie (cheaper) The front & rear blinkers are on... parts unlimited, or tucker rocky? The rear I got from this cool site called cycle recycle, tons of sweet chopper & cafe racer stuff. Got the tail light there too.
bigray, The gauges can be found on ebay but they are cheaper from Mikes XS (no mater what you do DON'T tell him you have a 1100), he will not sell any thing to you. He is not very nice & a 600-750 xs purest! I just lied & said I had a 750. Be sure from the compatibility link on this site that it works before ordering so you don't have to ask him; save your self an ass chewing. I also got the chrome levers there (from a XS 650) also available on ebay. The exhaust... Credit goes to Chop. His super cool unbelievably wicked street fighter XS has the same set up. Chop, I hope you don't mind me giving away your secrets. They are stock pipes, I measured the diameter with a caliper gauge thing (don't know what it's called) & at about 2" sawlzalld off the stock pipe through the outer baffle & inner pipe, the I spent 20$ at auto zone and got a set of muffler tips / turn downs for a Car (I know sacrilege) but it's cheap, looks bad ass, and sound mean as hell! Not recommended for those not intending to piss off the neighbors it's very loud. I read a saying some where, mybe here, "loud pipes save lives, Jesus only saves souls". Kinda true no chance some one isn't going to see (hear) me coming!

prometheus, I have no idea who's idea it was to put that ridiculous hole on top, but it has 2 more on the bottom as well as a long slotted tab to adjust & set the angle of the bucket. Not to mention it is a little rusty down there. It is a XS bucket and ring. I don't know if it was off a 1100 special though, maybe a 600-800 ??

Did you you sand and polish the aluminum?It looks great.I am going to take mine off this winter and work on 'em.Mine are pitted pretty bad.Were yours that way and do you have a clearcoat on them or just polishing them?

just polish, actually it's looking pretty bad again! I removed the dingy yellow clear coat (was oxidized) with a lot of elbow grease & a scotch bright pad. Polished it up with Mothers brand metal polish, (but I'm sure other brands work just as well). The trick that worked for me was wire wool & lots of time. I use medium fine grit & work down to 000 super fine grit wire wool. then a cloth & buff. I have done 3 old bikes this way, works better for some than others. This XS was pretty damn clean to begin with.
