    Don't go thru so much trouble!!

    Hey Catatonic,

    Don't bother trying to trace the wire thru the whole harness. Find the wire at the instrument cluster, and then just cut it, splice in a NEW ONE and run it down to the switch, and put a new switch on, and you should be good. Remember, it's just a grounding wire for the bulb's circuit.
