Just a quick question for the chemical gurus... if one let brass jets stay in a carb body overnight in a bucket of acetone...would it ruin/alter the jets?

Because I am a geek, here is a table of the uses of brass and how different chemicals react with it.1979 XS1100 Special with 81 carbs

Acetone
Sounds pretty safe too me after studying Chemisttry for most of the '80's.
Look out for any rubber parts like o-rings though as they are likely to swell if soaked in acetone and may never be the same again.
My next XS job is an attack on the carbs (again).
