So I plan on going with the cafe look with the bike and i did not know if you can swap the 79 standard seat that looks much more like a cafe style with the seath thats on my 79sf. Also, I want to make this bike handle like a beast. The power is right where it needs to be but i would like a little more love on the curves. Let me know if you have any suggestions on either.

If you have both seats, just try it. I think it will work, as the TCI box is behind the seat on the standard, and UNDER the seat on the special. There are a few threads on front fork mods, and in at least one of them Randy talked about the handling changes. A search should bring it up.

Sorry, I miss-read the post. If you want to put a STANDARD seat on a SPECIAL, It will not work. As I said in the previous answer, the Special has the TCI box UNDER the seat, the Standard has it BEHIND the seat. The seat pan for the Standard does NOT have the room for a TCI under it.
I would try using a seat pan you have, and shape the foam to your liking, and THEN get it covered at a local shop.

its not really the the seat part. it is the back of the the seat where the metal is. It is rounded over kinda like the cafe look. I have two seats but ireally dont want to tear one up to try to make what i waht because I am sure i would butcher it.
