  • parts compatibility.

Hi Guys, I have an 82 xj1100j and I'm going to look at a 80 xs1100 that is missing the carbs. I want it for parts, such as the starter. Any ideas what is compatible on these?

      Hey Service,

The engines are pretty much the same internally, just the heads are different due to the YICS for the XJ. The frame and cosmetics are a bit different, as well as the ignition system, different TCI, ignition coils. If it's a standard, it'll have the larger 17" rear wheel IF you were wanting to increase your mileage.
