Rebuilding carbs, what's the best way to remove these plugs on my80G. Thanks Den

Use a small drill bit 1/16-1/8 and drill a small pilot hole in the top, being very careful to go just through, not too deep with the bit or it will mess up your pilot screw head. Then using a sheet metal screw in the drilled hole and using the sheet metal screw as leverage, pop the top with a vise grip. When you rebuild it is not necessary to replace the covers as they were put there to prevent the rank and file from diddling with the Pilot Screws as they were preset at the factory according to EPA mandates in the 80s
