        Wingnut, I'm in Raleigh.
Also... I know I can get diaphragms from Yamaha but I'm too cheap to spend $250 for them. I'm just hoping to find a couple of good used ones.

          Thunder,
How bad are your diaphrams? If you don't have any LARGE tears, you should be able to salvage them with a spray or brush on coating. I've used RTV with pin holes, and I think the spray or dip-can of tool handle coating would work well with slightly larger holes. Anything larger than 1/8" will probably need a patch.

I tried the spray on rubber coating but the tear in one of my diaphragms was about 1/4" or more. It ran much better than before but the tear was so big I had to spray a lot of the rubber coating on to get it repaired. It made that diaphragm much stiffer than the others. Like I said the bike runs much better but still is kind of popping back at idle and doesn't accelerate smooth like it should.

              NC?

Just got back from a wonderful 8 days in Wilkes County, NC. Was there to visit a lady friend .... great girl and a spectacular piece of the country. Got to ride her little 250cc Virago around the twisty roads too .... could move there in a heartbeat, if the opportunity arose ....

I don't have any extra diaphrams but someone will have one .... somewhere.

                old set carbs

I have a set of carbs for parts .

The pilot set screws broke off in two of them. Everything else is fine.

They are off of a 1979 XS1100 Standard.

They have stock pilot jets 42.5 and main jets 137.5.

If you're interested, send me a private message or email me.

I've fixed some really ugly ones with Yamabond #5.

I had only 1 good slide when I fixed up the old Mongrel. So I took all the bad slides I had, washed them in soap and water, properly dried them then repaired them all with Yamabond 5. I ended up using all repaired slides. The were all looking good when I sold the bike 3 years later.
