      discharge

Clean alt. connections (behind fuse box) and regulator connections (under tank). Check voltage at battery while running at 2500 RPM, should be about 14.5 V.

Could put an ampmeter inline (series) with the battery. If it reads anything with the key off, then something is drawing.

If it runs and charges fine without the fairing lights connected, then you'll need to go through the wiring in the fairing. Somehow it's drawing way too much current - probably even drawing on the battery when the key is off. Also, make sure that the alternator is putting out at least 14 volts at 3k rpm.

A draw can be isolated by removing the fuses with the key off and connecting a test light across the terminals. If any of them pass enough current to light the test light, you know the draw is in that circuit.

If the light and signals will work but discharges the batt it is not the rectifier/regulator.If not charging the headlight and tach wont work.It is probably a short somewhere behind the headlight or maybe a switch.
