A standard 10/12 gauge crimp connector won't hold the bullet connectors correctly
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3037/2870628303_37e4d8cee4_m.jpg)
The new connector must be trimmed to match the original
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3171/2871459330_2998c2e664_m.jpg)
Use a very fine detail tool to remove only the minimum amount of excess metal from the new connector
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3012/2871458956_8c48a5826d_m.jpg)
Can not hold the connector in the vise this way as it will crush
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3008/2870627907_19cb42c10d_m.jpg)
Put a small Phillips screwdriver in the crimp barrel to prevent crushing the connector
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3193/2871458814_85632f0e5c_m.jpg)
Bend the flat side of the new connector to match the old connector shape.

The 10/12 gauge crimp barrel is too big so the harness wire must be trimmed and folded over onto itself to fit
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3029/2871458530_2b77bee86b_m.jpg)
Crimp and solder the new connector and then insert the bullet connectors
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3267/2871458392_be80065d1b_m.jpg)
Pack the connection with dielectric grease and slide the insulation shield over it
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3115/2870627069_8ee26113f9_m.jpg)
Line up the ears and carefully place the open part of the cover down over the front harness
![](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3018/2871458172_36075c49c7_m.jpg)
Test the brake light to make sure it comes on when you squeeze the front brake lever, reinstall the fairing or headlight and go for a ride!
Regards,
Scott
