    luggage rack

    Hi. Glenn from Oz.
My wife and I opted for a Gearsack rack. It is not pretty being a universal type. but there are some pluses???
The rack is strong and my wife often pillions so we bought a padded back rest that velcros on the frame. We then bought a 50 litre RJays expandable bag that sips over the frame and pad.
The all up here was AU$310 but worth every cent.
Next step I guess is a pair of soft panniers.
I should just add that the rack and bag do cause some buffeting. We have travelled at 140ks two up and there is some drag. my wife has a bad back (she reckons From carrying me lol) and the rack does afford her some comfort
    Regards glenn
PS A lot of the other racks were Flimsy by comparison and some stated that their rack should not be used as back support
    Bye

Yamaha did list a rack in their advertising literature in '82, you might try calling motorcycle salvage yards and see if any one has a Yamaha unit. Might be pretty scarce, though.

I have a rack I adapted from a Honda CB600, but is mounted on Vetter hard luggage brackets:

Otherwise you may have to come up with your own adaptation. Backrest is adjustable and is shown all the way back, but will come forward about a foot, or can be removed entirely.

          Hepco & Becker

I have some old Hepco & Becker sidebags which in all aspects are pretty excellent. My sidebags are pretty old, but on their homepage http://www.hepco-becker.de they show which current bags fits your machine (yes, some of them do fit the XS). Unfortunately their homepage is only in german, so I would find a dealer in your country.
