    hello
    i have a 1982 xj1100. my front right calliper appears to be seized. can anyone on her recommend someone to fix this at a good cost. dont want to have done till the season is over and would prefer someone in canada as that is where i live but would be willing to ship ti the usa. need to have fixed by next season as i have gone through a new brake pade in 4 months. i may want to send all of them to have them all cleaned as i bought the bike used and want to get to mint condition or better but i do not want to play with the brakes as they are kinda really important to saving my life. lol

    Hey Steve ,

    I have a rebuild kit here somewhere if you want it but I will have to look for it. I'm in Toronto everyday except fridays at SunnyBrook hospital if you want to drop it off .

      I'm guessing you had someone do this work for you, and you have recently looked at your brake pads and discovered they are thick on one side and very thin on the other like this:



      That's the way they're supposed to look!

      The sign of a seized caliper would be a smoking hot disc and difficulty getting the bike to roll.
