  • Anybody parting out an XJ1100 engine?

I'm looking for the casting that goes behind the alternator rotor with the oil seal in it for a project. Anybody have one to spare?

    Geezer

    ?????

LOL.. I have no clue what it is you're asking for Tony?? The casting behind the rotor? Do you mean just a sidecover?

Or are you saying you want an engine block with that side removed (Cutting torch?) that still has the crank seal in it?

I may be able to help out, I've got a "bottom end" with most of the unbolt-able bits removed. The PO gave it to me when I got the bike so I've got no use for it. If you want it, or parts off it (cut off?) let me know.

I screwed up on this one. My aging memory confused the XJ engine with some other bike I tore apart years ago. I should have looked at the parts books on Bike Bandit before I asked for this...

Anyway I'm working on a 45 amp alternator conversion and this was something I thought I was going to need.

If that wasn't so funny I'd be Pssed off.

for that remark you can just live without the 45 amp alternator conversion.... ;o)

                45 amps??

So... can I attach some leads and weld off the thing after that?

I've been working on a similar conversion for Goldwings and it didn't take much time before I was started to think about doing to my 79 Standard.

I don't think you could weld with it but you could light up your bike like a flying saucer. The kit is

"Agent Molder that wasn't a UFO, it was just a touring bike."
