  • Cafe bars, which new cable?

A while back I switched to cafe-ish style bars... they are nearly straight with only about 3/4" rise to each handgrip. I made due with the XS clutch cable length until yesterday, when the cable broke.

This time I'd like to get a cable more of the correct length. It seems to me that a cable just two or three inches shorter would be about ideal.

Any ideas? Which cables did you other short bar guys use? Where did you get them?

    Thanks in advance...

What size cable did you end up going with?

        Me too

i too just switched to cafe bars and realized I needed to do something about my throttle and probably clutch. How did you make them work or where to get new ones?? I Didn't think about how much of a shorter distance it was....

I was cool with the throttle, I bought a new clutch cable from MikesXS but apparently it was too long. One of the guys told me that clutch cables can only be too short, not too long, so maybe it needs a bit of re-routing?? I'm gonna give it a shot this weekend so I'll let you guys know how it works out. In the meantime, if someone has some info that can help out, feel free to post.

Additionally, they do it for about the same price. However, I recommend ordering soon (motorcycling off-season) because when I ordered mine for the FI swap, it took like 4 weeks due to high spring-summer demand.

                I mean drag...

I meant drag handlebars...is there a way to re-route the throttle cable to make it taught? My throttle was just sticking open, I mean its significantly shorter. I guess I will just re-route the clutch or can it be shortened at the clutch?
