  • Valve Shim Size

Just wondering if the dimeter of the valve shims is 29mm? If so any 29mm valve shime will work? (stupid question?) probably has been answered before but could not find it.

    Happy Labor Day.

Yes any 29mm shim will work. If you are in need of some, I operate the shim library here. It is an exchange program. You send me your old shims, and I swap them for the ones you need. You just pay shipping costs.

Yeah, They're on Ebay all the time. MANY bikes used these 29mm shims, so just about any bike shop will sell them for @ $5 or less.. some will exchange them free. Just be careful and take a micrometer with you though. There is a 29.5mm shim and you can't tell by looking at them, but they are just barely too big to fit in the shim bucket.
